Description
Our certified organic Moringa comes from Baja California, Mexico. Franciscan priests brought Moringa oleifera to Loreto, BC in the early 1500’s. It has grown there ever since. It’s an interesting story how it became commercialized. For years few people there knew of moringa’s beneficial qualities even though it grew all over the city and at the mission outside of town. A certified organic grower in the region had a family member that was ailing and greatly improved by eating the leaf, pods and seeds of the plant. The results were so impressive he decided to grow it himself and add it to his list of approved organic vegetables he ships to the USA weekly. Because of the proximity to the US our USDA has field offices there to closely monitor the protocols of the organic farmers. So we are confident in the authenticity of the USDA CERTIFIED ORGANIC certification.
The organic moringa is picked by hand and shade dried in the field.
